Perspiring …..body juddering as it climbed into cold turkey, fitting out for size and comfort in the changing room of mental instability, he considered not going to work but instead taking his dehydrated husk of a mouth to the pub as the onset of an alcoholic bender smiled appealingly, through the half open door of his thoughts, and he smiled back.

But the money was needed, and no work no pay thus no play as his current employ was structured, certainly ensured that individuals would return to work at the allotted hour….and keep returning, supplicants in the supporters club of Mammon.

What his mentors at work could not see was that such a regime encouraged quantity rather than quality, in that was he arriving for another shift cold turkey?
