A search for inspiration

I had hoped to be able to write something interesting ...witty even, but could it be the syntax which becomes the product of keyboard prodding ........is drying up in virtual consort with my dissapointing images?

I use the word virtual as this blog cannot be real? , can it ............? the web is an intrusion of virtuality....like my playstation Partick Thistle who are in the Scottish Premier League and holding their own.....now that is difficult to believe.

Tomorrow after gymnasium, I will sally forth with camera, so tell me dear reader before this blog ends, as end it surely must...is there an image you have in mind which could kick start inspiration?

you have the address

Closing Time

Bizarre.........

one of the things I most fear in life is closing time.

Wherever I am, in whichever time zone, the division bell is the sound which we know will come., ultimately, as sure as one day follows another

what fears do you hold close?

And so

And so..

Eight weeks to go………………..not quite my last night duty …but certainly running down the numbers.

What will it be like….? The lack of discipline that shift work brings upon a railway individual. Will I miss signals? Trains? Maybe…..but I can only suggest you ask me in six months time….and then only if I can be found!

Don’t try to hard…..

Another re-launch…or muddling mid-life crisis….for surely mid-life is passing as surely as night follows day. But for me there will be no more winters, for I shall live under ceiling sun, the Scottish man will acquire a slightly darker hue, sunglasses and baseball cap, accessory necessities. And, should I get something pierced mmmm ?something? and the tats touched up…? A little more fire in my dragons.

The book will be written, or rather a collection of shorter stories, and if no-one wants them I will simply supplant them on my web…and pictures, oh pictures. A source of my art which presently disappoints, when I compare my work to others whose imaginative imagery stretches out to the very edges of this creative medium. I need to practice….and then practice some more., for practice makes perfect.

Does it not…………….

Una pregunta como los angeles

Today is to be laced with sincerity…………..not lashed.

Mmmmm another struggle for Clare and the ageing Scot. However on a pleasing note, his body was in better shape than that of his departing friend? See ya David…be lucky.

Hope the angels are looking out for you….they appear to be looking out for me, but for how much longer?

Diwali Festival - Trafalgar Square - London

In the midst of today's busy lifestyle, Diwali gives an opportunity to pause and be grateful for what we have, to make special memories with family and friends, to laugh and enjoy what life offers us. Though the festival of Dipavali has undergone some changes, in due course of time, yet it has continued to be celebrated since the time immemorial. Every year, the festive season of Diwali comes back with all the excitement and merriment. Times may have undergone a sea change but customs and traditions remain the same.It is difficult to state that, since when the festival of Dipavali has been celebrating in its present form. In India, the economy is based on agriculture, this festival was believed to be started as the celebration of 'rituparva' thousands of years ago. By this time the harvest of crops were complete. As a result the people had not to worry about food for the rest of year. This joys of their reflected ion the illumination of countless lamps. In due course of time, numerous historical incidents got connected with this festival. There are many tales in the Puranas related with this festival. With the evolution of the lifestyle, there has been certain change in the way people celebrate Diwali, as more and more technology has been included, but the zeal and the spirit of celebration remains the same. Earthen lamps may have been replaced with stunning electric illuminations, dress code may have changed, but the custom and tradition of performing puja has been carried very well through generations. People wake up at the crack of dawn to conduct the customary pujas. Dressed in brilliant silks and glittering gold jewelry families gather and light crackers to usher in the great evening. After a session of bursting crackers, its time to visit friends and relatives. Armed with sweets and savories people meet their near and dear ones. Even today, Diwali is such a wonderful festival, a time of giving and sharing, a time to catch up with people, in other words its time to catch up with the little joys that we keep overlooking for the remaining part of the year.

Urban Sound

A wheezing wind over scores a synthesizer intro
into hip hop
bored kids in baseball caps
and bad manners
sullen shadows in silhouette.

wilting to the peer passion
of street fashion

The dance plays to concrete
arenas with high rise audience,
and graffiti publicity

So this is urban sound?
